I'm currently on the search for a new pair. If the soles of the original pair weren't compeltely cracked and missing half the soles on both I'd keep em going. I currently have both slippers and STILL prefer the original 15 year old pair because the fur has held up better. I'm not sure what changed in the materials and production, but the shearling wore out SO fast and within a year or two the balls of the feet were bare already and looked like my old pair. In December of 2016, I figured, hey I almost got 10 years out of this pair and got another of the exact same. I've worn through the shearling on the balls of my feet and they're so old the rubber sole has become completely brittle and crack/break so I decided it was time for a new pair. Shearling is pretty compressed at this point but they still keep my feet warm. The ones I bought 15 years ago are still pretty solid considering how old they are. One I bought probably almost 15 years ago and a pair I bought in December 2016. Are there any other options in boot (preferred) or moccasin style? They can be women's or men's I'm not weird. So now I'm not really sure where to go from here. I tried both the boot and shoe style glerups and the edges of both rubbed on the skin of my foot and gave me bad rashes/irritation after only 1 day of wearing, I can't seem to escape that, but I absolutely loved the comfort of the boot style Glerups, the shoe style Glerups were terrible all around - didn't keep my feet warm and gave me rashes, and didn't feel nearly as comfy. The Glerups are just an awful all around experience, made worse because I bought them from Backcountry and their return policy sucks. The Haflingers I had high hopes for but I don't like the clog style, I don't like having an open back I feel like that style doesn't keep my feet nearly as warm unless I wear socks and if I had to wear socks with slippers I'd probably opt for the bison leather lined ll bean slippers or something similar. I swore by the comfort of the LL Bean Wicked Good Moccassins, so something at that level of comfort would be nice, but the shearling lining is almost completely worn out of the slipper at this point and they barely stay on my feet anymore, nor do they keep my feet nearly as warm, they lasted less than 2 years which was a little disappointing. twice) and am hoping I can return them all, looks like I can probably return one of the glerups and the haflingers, but the second glerups I might be SOL. I'm $400 deep right now in slippers (haflingers and glerups. The mods are somewhat flexible with the rules as long as the OP explains in the comments.
